Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Lovely Thai food. Prawn toast is our favorite dish. Massaman brisket beef curry is yummy too."
"Great location overlooking the lake at Mt Barker. Saw the reviews and wanted to try it. The food was good and I need to point out this is a cafe, not a high end restaurant, so my 4 stars are generous. The dumplings were crunchy and lovely, but needed more sauce than the light drizzle below them that was offered , to add to the very light filling of coriander and chives. I had the Karage chicken bowl which also lacked any kind of sauce to lift the white rice and lightly pickled kimchi. The fried rice dish was very tasty, in comparison. The service was excellent and the location great. I ate outside, so didn't experience the noise, like other reviews."
"Randomly stumbled across this place on Friday night! Food was amazing! And they had a brilliant range for dietaries including gluten free! Such a good vibe as well for a Friday night dinner!"
"What a fabulous experience! I will be visiting repeatedly to eat through the lovely menu. The drinks menu is really great and even the non alcoholic drinks are amazing. The location is perfect for anytime of the day and for any occasion. So impressive"
"Tried Wok the Duck for the first time during their Spring Roll Festival, and it was definitely an experience. There was a live band playing ... loud, sure, but still bearable enough to enjoy the atmosphere. The vibe was energetic and fun, though it did cause a bit of chaos with the service. Waiters were rushing around, and orders got a little mixed up… but hey, we ended up with a free drink, so no complaints there! The food? Absolutely amazing. Yes, it’s on the expensive side, but you can taste the quality. Every dish had depth and balance, and if you’re after premium flavours, it’s worth the price tag. Only downside was the raw oysters ... they looked great but tasted bland, almost like they missed the mark on seasoning. No salt, no ocean kick. Still, everything else more than made up for it. Great food, fun vibe, and definitely a spot we’d come back to (especially for the spring rolls!)."
"I "stumbled" across this restaurant whilst waiting for friends to pick me up from the Aston Hills shopping centre. Initially, I was drawn to the music and noticed quite a gathering of motor cyclists, so I walked across the road to check the place out. Not having consumed anything, I cannot (yet) comment on the food. However, I was impressed by the atmosphere. The large number of customers suggests that this restaurant is quite popular. A staff member explained to me that this was a special pre-booked event where customers could consume all they could eat from a well-spread buffet, which looked really amazing."
"Wow. Why has it taken us so long to check this place out !!! It was amazing. A brilliant menu. Beautiful food. Great vibe with a really pretty view overlooking a dam. Every thing was more than we were expecting. The wait staff were so lovely. Big smiles. Happy faces. Will be back"
"Ordered a pork Katsu Sando, brisket massaman, WTD crisps, eggplant chips, banana caramel dessert spring roll, Duck Coffee Illusion, and Triple Duck Ginger. Everything was exceptional. Staff were friendly and knew the menu well, and everything came out hot, fresh, and within a good timeframe. Definitely recommend, and will be back next time we visit SA"
